Hi! I’m Liz, and I started “Beyond the Brunette” as a reminder to myself and others that true beauty goes beyond what is on the outside.
In my opinion, true beauty goes beyond hair color; it goes beyond what make-up you’re wearing or what clothes you decide to put on in the morning.
To me, the most beautiful people are those who are fully and completely happy with themselves, something that can only be achieved beginning on the inside. The most attractive people in the room are always the ones with a smile–and a genuine one, at that!
True beauty and radiance come from within, and it is this idea that I hope to encapsulate throughout my various blog posts.
I’m a total girly-girl, though, so that’s not to say that you won’t hear me talking about my hair and nails from time to time, or that I don’t love dressing up just as much as the next girl!
The goal of this blog is to help you live your life to the absolute fullest it can be lived. It’s to help all of you out there who feel or have ever felt that you’re missing out on even a single moment of life.
So what can you expect to see on here?
Don’t lie to me; you know that you love to eat! Trust me, I do too. What you probably don’t love about food–and what I definitely don’t love either–is the way it makes you feel when you overindulge. Definitely not beautiful from the inside out. Because of this, it’s important to try to make healthy substitutions wherever you can. Even just little substitutions here and there, like replacing half of the white flour in a recipe for whole grain, can go a long way in the way you’ll feel after eating!
You can expect to see plenty of delicious and wholesome combinations of food on here. Food that not only tastes amazing, but that will make you feel amazing. And also plenty of talk about how you can make healthy food choices, of course! (:
Exercise is one of the easiest ways to get your inner happiness going on–it works fantastically as an all-day mood boost! Whether you try running, biking, yoga, or any of the hundreds of other exercises out there, exercise is what will give you those happy endorphins to get you through the day. You’ll find plenty of fun workout routines on Beyond the Brunette that you can try, as well as plenty of talk about different forms of exercise and how you can stay motivated to keep going!
Keeping yourself healthy, both inside and out, is a major part of the key to happiness. Beyond the Brunette will give you plenty of information about your physical health needs, including exercise, food, sleep, and more. Perhaps even more importantly, it will also be overflowing with posts about your inner wellness needs, all surrounding the major issue of how you can live your life to the fullest.

And no, a healthy lifestyle isn’t just about looking hot in that bikini, or even about making the right food choices all the time. There are so many different facets and components to it, and ultimately, the key to living a healthy lifestyle is living the life that makes you the happiest.
